Frenectomy AKA Tongue Tie Release: Why do it & Who needs it?

Ankloglossia, also know as tongue tie, is a congenital condition that inhibits the proper function of the tongue as early as infancy. The lingual frenum is a ligament that is an artifact that is supposed to be removed by apoptosis, programmed cell death, when an infant is in the womb growing, however, it is not always completed.

Does Your Office Take My Dental Insurance?

Yes, we accept all dental insurances and are always welcoming new patients. Your insurance will sometimes try to dictate which dentist you see and will have a list for you to chose from at times. However, that does not mean you cannot come to our office. We will gladly file to your insurance. You may have a little more out of pocket cost, but it is usually negligible in the big scheme of things.

When you think dental impressions, you probably think of the longest 30 seconds to 5 minutes of your life with goopy material dripping down your throat, saliva dripping down your chin, a big metal tray in your mouth, and impression material stuck in between your teeth and on your face!
